Thought of the week
Due to the fear of imposing particular values, many educators prefer to adopt a morally neutral approach and believe that it is not the role of schools to influence students' moral preferences. Certainly, one can be wary of a prescriptive teaching of morality that reflects the worldview of the one who teaches it. But who could regret inspiring in children a constructive appreciation of mutual aid, honesty, and tolerance?
