Thought of the week
There are opportunists, who find the idea of prosperity without growth bothersome. They desire maximum growth that benefits the present generation as much as possible. To do nothing now for the environment, they pre-emptively praise the ingenuity of future generations, who they claim will find solutions. It is not a matter of underestimating the creativity and innovation capacities of the human species, but one must be farsighted, as the existence of critical thresholds will make the task challenging in many domains.
