Inequalities are a source of contempt and rejection, as can be seen blatantly with the stigmatization of certain groups (Blacks in the United States, immigrants in Europe, foreigners almost everywhere else, etc.). One of the consequences of this stigmatization is the widely held belief that individuals themselves, and not society, are responsible for poverty, and they are even blamed for it.
